We took Caius to the Alameda Point Antiques Faire, which is named one of America's Best Flea Markets by Architectural Digest online. It is the largest antiques show in Northern California as held on the 1st Sunday of every month.  If you’re ever in the area near first of month, come and check out this best vintage market in the Northern California. It is good for treasure hunting and people watching!

They open really early - I guess serious buyers/dealers need to get up early to “hunt” for treasures. So the tickets are more expensive for 6-7:30am, which is $15. And 7:30 to 9 is $10. After 9am is $5.

We just want some unique decorations and also need to drive from South Bay up there with a toddler so we don’t mind being late and arrived around 10am. The parking lot is HUGE and the Faire is big too. It is a long walk to the entrance as we didn’t hunt for parking space in the front. On two sides of the Faire, there are vendors selling food and drinks. Middle sections are about 800 booths arranged is many rows - we only walked till row H as it is huge - see the aerial photo to appreciate the size of the Faire.

Caius sat in the wagon and had fun looking around. He also came down and pull his own wagon a while. He is pretty well behaved, never runs away or touches things he shouldn’t. With cars/trucks being his interests, he points out what is out there. And sometimes it amazed me that kids really have super good observation around themselves, he could point at a truck that is one row away.

We got three paintings and saw quite a few interesting items but decided to head back home as it is hard to move all three paintings and Caius. Luckily we got popcorn earlier so he is sitting in the wagon eating and playing with what we got (running his dump truck on our newly bought painting or playing echos with the jar).

I have also seen other parents hauling their kids in wagons or strollers and some of them are watching iPads.

Too bad I couldn’t check out some jewelry sections but I do have quite a lot already. I do like the jewelry at the booth we got the painting in the row D so maybe next time I would check it out.

After heading out (it was a long walk with Caius and three painting) and got our car - we stayed in Alameda for lunch at CK restaurants - it has pretty good food. Decoration is pretty - they also have a bar. Our waiter and waitress are so sweet and attentive. They also show great courteous to our highly energetic toddler. I really appreciate that and would highly recommend this restaurant. Also their price is quite reasonable compared with the ones we have in South Bay. I would like to come back next time if we are in the neighborhood.
